The real value of this thing, the Altec 405a full-range mini-speaker, is in good working order. This is an Altec 1598A amplified rack-mount monitor panel. Included is a wood en case for it, and four input wires 1/4 unbalanced phone plugs on the ends. The amplifier works but the volume/on-off control is scratchy.

It was painted blue at the factory, part of a custom-color Altec rack in high school auditorium. The rotary switch between 5 line-level inputs also needs cleaning. See the images for original brochure and schematic.
