Freshly oiled for preservation. Thanks they have the original Jbl signature speakers LE8T full range and pr8 passive radiators; however, white surrounds had stiffened up significantly. The new foam surrounds were installed properly attaching to the back of cones. With newer concentric speakers getting rave reviews due to their exceptional off-axis performance and lack of crossover components it seems the Jbl LE8T was 60 years ahead its time.

Carefully removing the old surrounds and glue was very time consuming. The larger Jbl badges from the back have been installed on front and can be rotated if speaker is positioned at full height or width . The bass is very low and smooth, the treble bright mellow. Revitalized 60s Jbl lancer 44 speakers, original signature LE8T l44, beautiful looking and sounding, new foam surrounds: these came in from the original owner, an American soldier that brought them back Germany.

New connectors: now accommodating larger gauge wire, lugs or banana plugs. These lancer speakers sound fantastic, clean and sharp. Walnut cabinets: very good condition walnut with minimal scratches or scuffs.

New grill cloth: rather then the original mesh on back of grill with heavy tweed front. The difference in sound was dramatically improved allowing the passive radiators to really move and dig deep for very low frequencies.
